How is a wagering requirement calculated?
Multiply the amount specified in the offer by its wagering multiplier. Then account for which activity qualifies and the contribution rate. The offer’s wording determines the basis; “10×” alone does not tell you the qualifying total.
1. Identify what the multiplier applies to
Compare two fictional offers with a 20-unit bonus, a 100-unit deposit and a 10× multiplier. A bonus-only basis gives 20 × 10 = 200 units of qualifying activity. A deposit-plus-bonus basis gives (100 + 20) × 10 = 1,200 units.
Both descriptions contain “10×”, but their bases differ. If the offer uses terms such as turnover, playthrough or rollover, ask which amounts are included instead of assuming the labels mean the same thing.
| Stated basis | Calculation | Qualifying total |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus only | 20 × 10 | 200 units |
| Deposit plus bonus | (100 + 20) × 10 | 1,200 units |
2. Check how activity contributes
If eligible activity contributes at 20%, a 10-unit stake would add 2 units to the qualifying total in this simplified example. To accumulate a 200-unit requirement at that constant rate, the arithmetic is 200 ÷ 0.20 = 1,000 units of eligible stakes.
A 0% contribution does not make progress toward that requirement. Some offers exclude particular games or actions entirely. The arithmetic assumes unchanged conditions and does not predict losses, wins or whether a balance will last long enough to complete anything.
3. Read the conditions that arithmetic cannot answer
Keep the full terms rather than only the promotional banner. If the conditions are spread across a general bonus policy and an individual offer, read both and ask the account service to resolve any conflict.
- Eligibility: which account, region or qualifying event is covered?
- Activation: must you opt in before the qualifying action?
- Maximum stake: does exceeding it affect the reward?
- Expiry: when does the requirement end, and in which time zone?
- Withdrawal or cancellation: what happens to the bonus and any related balance?
- Evidence: where can you view the terms and the recorded progress?
Ask a precise question before accepting
For example: “Does the multiplier apply only to the bonus, which games contribute, and what happens if I stop before the deadline?” A clear answer should identify the applicable conditions, not merely repeat the headline reward.
An offer does not require you to raise a spending or time limit. If completing its conditions would conflict with a limit you already set, you can decline it. VF publishes these examples to explain terms; it does not certify an offer or recommend a staking plan.
Bonus Terms Guide questions
Is the qualifying total an estimate of how much I will lose?
No. It is the amount of qualifying activity specified by the illustrated conditions. It is not a loss forecast, a return estimate or a guarantee that the conditions can be completed.
Does a lower multiplier always mean an easier offer?
Not by itself. Compare the basis, contribution rates, excluded activity, deadlines and other conditions together.
